VidChart respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and how you can control it. By using vidchart.in, you agree to this policy. If you don't, please don't use the service.
01 Who we are
VidChart ("we", "us", "our") is a creator intelligence platform operated by Anurag Singh, based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. We provide merit-based YouTube creator rankings using publicly available YouTube data combined through proprietary scoring methodology.

02 What data we collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address — when you join the Pro waitlist or contact us
- Source — which page you signed up from (e.g., /pro.html)
- User-agent string — your browser type, captured at signup for fraud prevention
- IP address — captured at signup for security and rate-limiting purposes
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP, timestamp, page accessed) — for security and debugging
- Aggregated usage statistics — total page views, no individual tracking
What we do NOT collect
- We do not require user accounts to view rankings
- We do not track individual viewing history or YouTube watch behavior
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- We do not sell your email or any personal data to anyone
- We do not infer demographic data from your usage
03 YouTube API data
VidChart accesses public YouTube data via the YouTube Data API v3, in accordance with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
The YouTube data we access includes only public information:
- Channel metadata (name, subscriber count, video count, channel age)
- Video metadata (title, view count, like count, comment count, publish date)
- Public thumbnails (displayed with attribution to YouTube)
- Publicly available channel/video statistics
We do not access private user data (subscriptions, watch history, comments authored, etc.). VidChart does not require you to log in with a Google account.
Data refresh and deletion
Per YouTube's API requirements, we refresh stored YouTube data at least every 30 days. If a creator's content is removed from YouTube, the corresponding data will be removed from VidChart within 30 days, or sooner upon explicit request.
04 Why we collect it
- To deliver the service — show rankings, send waitlist emails, fulfill Pro subscriptions
- To communicate — notify you when Pro launches, respond to your questions
- To improve — understand which features matter to users, fix bugs
- To secure — prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- To comply — meet legal obligations under Indian IT Act 2000 and applicable laws
06 How long we keep data
- Waitlist emails — until Pro launches, plus 24 months, OR until you request deletion
- YouTube data — refreshed at least every 30 days; old snapshots deleted
- Server logs — 90 days, then automatically deleted
- Payment records (when Pro launches) — 7 years per Indian tax law
07 Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we have about you
- Correct — fix incorrect data
- Delete — request complete erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object — opt out of marketing emails (when sent)
- Portability — receive your data in machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — at any time
For YouTube creators
If you are a YouTube creator and want your channel removed from VidChart's rankings, email hello@vidchart.in with your channel URL. We will remove it within 7 business days.
How to exercise these rights

08 Cookies and tracking
VidChart uses minimal browser storage:
- localStorage — stores your Pro waitlist email locally for confirmation display (does not transmit)
- No third-party cookies
- No advertising trackers
- No fingerprinting
You can clear browser storage at any time via your browser's settings.
09 Data security
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Database is hosted on Neon (PostgreSQL with encryption at rest)
- API keys are stored as environment variables, never in code
- Admin endpoints require authentication via secret key
- We use industry-standard practices to protect your data
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours per applicable laws.
10 Children's privacy
VidChart is not directed at children under 13 years old (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via email (to waitlist subscribers) and prominently on the website. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
